Hayes and Coney Hall Ward – New Zealand Incident

A message from Adam Lighterness PCSO 7123SN Hayes and Coney Hall SNT West Wickham Police Office.

Dear resident, please see below message from Bromley senior leadership team:

You may be aware of the terrorist incidents that took place in New Zealand at two mosques in Christchurch.
We want to assure you that we stand together with Bromley’s diverse community and with all those shocked, horrified, and affected, by this terrible attack.

We understand that this will cause concern within our communities and we will be carrying out additional reassurance patrols and visiting Bromley’s mosques and Islamic groups.

Places of worship can also utilise the Metropolitan Police training package ‘ACT Awareness eLearning’ for advice on Protective Security and how to react should the worst happen. It can be found at https://www.gov.uk/government/news/act-awareness-elearning.

Community intelligence is crucial to helping us understand how we can best support the people of Bromley.

If you are aware of any increase in tension within the community, or there is anything at all that worries you or does not feel right, please let us know by calling 101 or in an emergency 999.

Many thanks,

Adam Lighterness
