London Community Response WAVE 2 launched:
Vital funding support offered to London’s civil society groups affected by COVID-19
London’s funders are working together to provide coordinated funding to support groups responding to the needs of communities affected by the covid-19 pandemic.
Wave 1 Small Grants were focused on food and essentials. Wave 2 grants are to continue the crisis response as well as changing the way you deliver your work to ensure it continues to meet the needs of your communities.
If you are part way through making an application for a Wave 1 Small Grant, you can continue to do this until the end of today (Tuesday 14th April).
If you have already submitted an application for a Wave 1 Small Grant, and you haven’t yet heard back, please bear with the fund whilst your application is considered.
Wave 2 is focussed on Delivering Differently – grants of between £10,000 and £50,000 to enable you to change the way you deliver your work to ensure it continues to meet the needs of your communities, from switching to digital channels to redeploying staff to boost your capacity at a time of increased demand. In some circumstances, the fund may consider grants above £50,000 but there must be a strong rationale in your application for this.
For Delivering Differently grants, the fund expects these to cover the up-front costs of changing the way you deliver your services (e.g. any new equipment, or training for your team), and then enabling you to continue to deliver in these new ways (including staffing and ongoing service costs) to increase the reach and capacity of your work. Whilst this is a rapidly-changing situation, and there is a lot of uncertainty about how long the current restrictions will be in place, the fund would ask you to prepare your budget based on needing to work in these new ways for up to three months.
