We have been advised by the Army that they now wish to set up a mobile COVID-19 test facility in Bromley, they had previously requested this, but then subsequently withdrew their request. At that time, a number of sites were considered, one of which was the Hayes Lane car park in Norman Park adjacent to the athletics track.
They now wish to utilise this site on Friday 1st May to provide a test facility for pre booked tests only. In light of this, we will be closing this car park to the general public on Friday and allowing only those with pre booked test appointments into the car park from this entrance.
The expectation at the moment is that the Army will fully manage the site and testing, once we have facilitated access on Friday, the testing site is understood at this stage to be operating between 10am and 5pm, although further details are expected on the exact process and duration.
Signs will be displayed prior to Friday advised people of this and directing them to alternative entrances, the bring banks in this car park will not be available to the public on Friday, but as I am sure that you are aware, there are also bring banks in the Hook Farm car park, again the notices will advise the public of this.
Helpfully, the athletics track has offered to place their welfare facilities at the disposal of the Army for the duration of the testing.
If any more information comes forward, I will of course update you.
Kind regards
Colin
