Bromley Youth Council are doing some great work around the Borough and has produced an animated film concerning Bullying, Mental Health, not obvious Disabilities, i.e. Autism, etc.  This will go out to all Senior Schools as they are concentrating on 11-19 year olds.  I suggested getting in touch with the Scouts and Guides.  They are currently not including 5-10 year olds.

London Fire Brigade (LFB) – Waste Tipping Fires are a major concern in the Borough, along with Youth antisocial behaviour in lighting fires for fun.  In certain areas of Bromley, they have an almost permanent fire engine stationed to deter the fun fires.  It seems to be working.

They went on to say about High Rise new builds and that now the LFB are part of the planning process on all new builds.  There have been a lot of changes since Genfell.

South Eastern Trains (SET) – It was explained that SET own the land the trains run on, which helps with antisocial behaviour and can ban people from the Network.  The Station Staff are now being trained to look out for people who look unwell or anxious as part of Safeguarding.  The Station Staff are also being given body cameras.

British Transport Police (BTP) – Main concern is antisocial behaviour on trains and trains being used for county lines etc.  They ask all passengers to report crime asap.  If you witness something that concerns you, they ask you to TEXT to 61016 to ensure you are not heard reporting any incident.

MET Police Cyber Crim Unit – This was quite enlightening, especially with passwords and made the audience laugh at times!  It is a very big problem, which they are working hard to root out the Scammers.  However, most of the Scammers are abroad, which makes it very difficult to prosecute.

MET Police – They have spent a lot of time on Shop Lifting and are trying to work with Retailers to remove high value items from the front of their shops. Thousands of Pounds worth of goods are stolen every day and some parts of the Borough are extremely affected.  Motor Crime has risen, including burglaries.

Right across the Borough they are trying their best, where possible, to prosecute offenders.  Homelessness is another problem.
