Hayes Village local neighbourhood improvements

Notification of Works

HAYES VILLAGE LOCAL NEIGHBOURHOOD IMPROVEMENTS

A report was presented to Committee on the 29th January 2020 addressing concerns from residents and businesses in and around Hayes Village.

These included a lack of crossing facilities, particularly by the mini roundabout outside Hayes Library, and traffic speeds through the village and outside schools in the area.

The committee approved the installation of new and upgraded traffic islands,

highlighting the crossing points by surface treatments, and the introduction of advisory 20mph speed limits near to the schools in the area.

The works were due to be implemented last year but were delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and are now scheduled to commence on or after Monday 26th July 2021.

The measures aim to improve road safety and provide pedestrians with a nicer environment and safer crossing points.

We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during the period of works, which are expected to be completed by the end of August 2021.

Kind Regards,

Transport Engagement Team
