The Government has allocated 2.4m for the council to distribute to local businesses adversely affected by COVID-19 under this Discretionary Grants Fund.
The Fund is aimed at small and micro businesses that were not eligible for the Small Business Grant Fund or the Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Fund.
However, it is expected that demand for this funding will be high. Local authorities can therefore use their discretion to direct funding in order to best support their local economies.
The council have therefore agreed a policy on how to prioritise the allocation of these funds through a Local Economy Business Grants scheme.
In order to apply for a Local Economy Business Grant, you will need to check that your business meets a set of eligibility criteria. You can find out more at www.bromley.gov.uk/LocalEconomyBusinessGrant, where you can also download detailed Guidance for Applicants.
Please note that we expect to open for online applications on Wednesday10th June 2020. We would encourage you to make your application as soon as you can after the application window opens.
In the meantime, we strongly advise that you carefully review the eligibility criteria to determine if you meet the requirements, and if you do that you begin to gather the relevant information and evidence you will need to submit an application. Please note that the deadline for applications is Tuesday 23rd June 2020.
