Ravens celebrate EFL promotion with open-top bus parade

Michael Cheek netted a brace as the scores finished at 2-2 after extra-time.

Skipper Byron Webster stepped up to bury home the winning penalty in a shoot-out which also saw Grant Smith produce two fantastic saves.

A sensational day it sparked jubilant celebrations not only for everyone at the football club but also for the whole Bromley community.

Celebrations extended to the following Saturday afternoon as the Bromley Council hosted an open-top bus parade which departed Hayes Lane and finished at The Glades shopping centre where supporters were able to meet and greet their Wembley heroes.

The streets turned into a sea of Bromley shirts and flags as supporters of all ages cheered on Andy Woodman and his side as they made their way through the town centre.

Stopping at The Glades shopping centre, fans were given a chance to enjoy a signing session with their heroes whilst hearing from manager Woodman and Owner & Chairman Robin Stanton-Gleaves. We also had the pleasure of being joined by the Mayor of Bromley, Mike Botting.

Speaking to the BBC after the ceremony, Andy said: “It’s become an unhealthy obsession; it’s really consumed everything in my life.

“But when you get all these people turn out for you like this and you know it’s made a difference to their life, it’s worth every minute of that energy that I’ve given it.”
